Greater Scaup, Aythya marila: AKA Bluebill, Broadbill This diver has a broad range that expands across the northern hemisphere. In winter it's found on coastal bays and the Great Lakes. It feeds on shellfish and submerged vegetation and is a favorite among layout hunters. The drakes' blue bills and yellow eyes are striking against it's dark green head. Hen's white feathers at the base of the bill make them easy to identify from a distance.
